5 course dinner by Chef Richard Langston paired with 7 Italian wines from Vias Imports / Idaho Wine Merchant
On Saturday, August 22nd at 6:30pm we'll be hosting a "Taste of Italy" featuring a 5-course dinner paired with 7 wines. Our special guest is Scott Sprague of Idaho Wine Merchant who will be on hand to talk about the great Italian wines he and Richard have chosen for this event. Cost is $160 per person, including tax and gratuity.
This event is socially distanced, of course, so we have room for only 40 guests. Tickets are through Eventbrite (and fees are also included in the ticket price). We will need to meet a minimum guest count of 20 guests in order to make this event happen. If you are comfortable dining with another couple or two (and that's up to you--there will be no communal tables otherwise), let us know. We can seat groups of four or six--otherwise all the tables will be for two.
We spent two weeks in Italy in October, tasting our way through Chianti, Florence, Siena, and Rome. We took a cooking class at Badia a Coltibuono, and visited four wineries—all represented on this menu and featured on our wine list. We explored narrow winding streets with a myriad of family-owned restaurants and sidewalk cafes, dodged scooters, toured a 2,000-year-old wine cellar under a restaurant that is a “mere” 500 years old. Two rooftop bars, many scoops of gelato, plates of pasta, countless cups of espresso, quite a few bottles of wine, some Negronis, and many many steps (our Apple watches were proud). This Taste of Italy menu is a mere hint of what we ate and drank, but we hope it expresses a little of what we love about Italy-- great food and wonderful wine shared with friends.
